The best refried beans, that ever tried. Full of flavor and it is an easy recipe.
this recipe is my grandma recipe and every time I make them I rememberd her.
CREAMY AND RICH
This refried beans are rich and very cream they mix beautifully with eggs, toast ,rice and much more.
For me is better to cook my own beans then to buy the store can, but hey, you can do it both ways , it will be good too.
COOKING YOUR OWN BEANS?
INSTANT POT: add your beans, 1-2 cloves of garlic, salt,1 onion cut in 4 pieces add it to the pot close it and cook it for 35 min.
SLOW COOKER METHOD:the same as the instant pot but you will cook them for 10-12 hours on low. I like to cook them at night and they will be done by the morning.
STOVE: same as the above, but here will take around 1-2 hrs you have to put the lid and you have to checking them , because you will need to add more water.
USES FOR REFRIED BEANS
Oh boy! this beans is a perfect side dish to any dish especially to Mexican meal.
- for a Dip
- molletes (bolillo cut in half add the beans and cheese, melt the cheese in the oven for a few minutes.)
- and mas much the ideas are endless
CAN I USE BLACK BEANS?
Yes you can, but black beans aren’t as easy blended then pinto beans. They will be more chunky, and the flavor may be a little bit difference but not much, BUT they will taste pretty good too.
RECIPES TO TRY:
- 6 slices american cheese
- 2 tbsp chicken bouillon
- 2 tbsp cumin
- 5 pieces hotdogs
- 10 small pieces of ham
- 5 strips bacon
- 1 lb pinto beans
- 1 medium onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1 225gr of chorizo
- some of chiles en vinagre and some juice
In a pan add the beans and plenty of water, add the garlic salt and the onion cut in 4.and cook them for INSTANT POT 35 min, SLOWCOOKER 10-12 hrs and in the STOVE 1-2 hrs.
Once they are done we are goign to blend them using just a little bit of their juice to help the blender to his job . but do not add alot of it because we dont want our beans to be very liquid.
, you will blend them with the ham,hotdogs,chicken bouillon,cumin,cheese and the chiles en vinagre and some of the juice.
And blended well and set aside.
in a big pan, you are going to cut the bacon in small pieces, and cook them, once they are cooked. we are going to add all the chorizo and cook them well.
once that step is done we are going to add the beans already blended and mix up very well.
And check the flavor, you could are more chicken bouillon or cumin if they need to,
